We asked for advice from our brides for your wedding day. Here’s what they had to say :
Know and accept that something will go wrong, nobody will notice so just carry on and enjoy your day !
The day goes by so quickly, so really enjoy every minute. Try to speak at everyone in the room at some stage – these people probably mean a lot to you and it might be the only time you get them all in one room !
Dont sweat the small stuff. It will all be over in a flash and months later you will regret wasting time and energy worrying about the small stuff.
Designate someone to take things home at the end of the night – guests books, cards etc.
The dieting efforts are done by now ! If you dont eat, you’re energy will flag and you’ll get grumpy ! Its hard to get time to eat so make sure you have a big breakfast.
Dont forget your new hubby
With so many people to talk to , photos etc it can be hard to spend time with your new husband. Make the time, no one will notice if at some stage you both slip away for quiet moment together away from the party. Its the start of your marriage, not just a wedding day.
Capture everyones photos.
We got a (sober) friend to try to get as many of ours guests memory cards downloaded to a laptop before the end of the night. Although our photographer did an amazing job, you’d be surprised at the brilliant photos friends and family took. It really gave us a good range of styles – formal, candid, relaxed, funny and just plain silly as the night wore on !
Go easy on the alcohol
Its a long day and it can be easy to drink more than you intend. If you dont get a chance to eat, you will get drunk pretty easily ! Check yourself regularly and drink plenty of water. Or make the afternoon alcohol free.
You have probably taken the time to give the DJ a list of your favourite tracks, so make the most of it and get on down !
