Ten Compelling Reasons To Get Married In Portugal.
Congratulations from me ( Jenni in Ireland) and my partner (Melina in Portugal ) if you have recently gotten engaged ! Exciting times ahead. We recently celebrated a year in business, and we are so thankful that our business is growing from strength to strength. Partly because thousands of couples in Ireland and the UK are deciding to beat the unpredictable weather as well as overpriced and underwhelming venues and are looking at the many reasons to get married in Portugal. Portugal is a natural choice with its close proximity, stunning scenery and venues and fresh delicious food.
But you like lists right ?! So here you go, here is our top ten reasons to get married in Portugal in 2017.
1 Less expensive than the average wedding in the UK or Ireland! And also better value for your money. Wine selections are fantastic, with hundreds of native Portuguese wine grapes. Gutsy reds and dry or delicate whites. Yum.
2 Cheap, direct and frequent flights to Lisbon. Easyjet, Ryanair and Are Lingus run daily flights during the summer months.
3 No pressure to have a ‘traditional’ wedding. People expect a wedding in Portugal to be a little different. But the best weddings blend some traditional elements with a Portuguese spin.
4 320 sunny days a year!
5 Forget the boring turkey / beef or salmon wedding menu. Menus are generally bigger with much more variety so there is something for even the picky eaters !
6 Sun drenched venues both outdoor and indoor. You can mix up your day with parts indoors and parts outdoors. This really helps get your guests up and about and mingling together.
7 Memorable Weddings that will be the topic of conversation for months.
8 A wedding in Portugal usually turns into a week long get together.
9 People you feel obliged to invite and people who would feel obliged to attend usually wont make the journey 😉
10 A rare opportunity to get all your favourite people together for an extended period of time.
