Unique Weddings In Portugal have been doing some research on possible colour trends for 2016. It’s taken us a little while to narrow down the list but we hope our selection of the colour trends we forecast this year will in some way help make planning your big day a little easier. Not only are these colours unique but, we have a few reasons why this list is extra special. Each colour has a particular trait, in most cases several. We think it’s important that before making your colour palette choice, you first know the meaning of each colour tone.
First up is one of this year’s ‘pantone of the year’ colours, the beautiful, subtle Rose Quartz. The subtle wash of this colour adds a gorgeous classic impact over all your wedding details. This colours traits are gentle, compassionate, composed, reflective and lighthearted.
Second on our list is of course this year’s second ‘pantone colour of the year’, Serenity. The serenity bridesmaid dresses are such a fresh choice for a springtime vintage themed wedding. This colour works both on it’s own and paired with our number one, Rose Quartz. Serenity’s colour traits are calming, trusting and dependable.
Red is a colour commonly used for a wedding theme, especially weddings around christmas time. However, we predict that this burgundy shade is going to replace that strong red tone. Obviously this shade is still strong yet is so elegant and contrasts nicely with both gold & ivory. We just absolutely love the mix of the two colours bridesmaid dresses. The colour traits of burgundy are strong, energy, powerful, exciting and determination.
Ivory is a shade often forgot but, we think this year it’s a colour that is going to prove very popular. It’s typically soft and delicate reflecting a classical style, perfect for a city themed wedding. What we love about this colour choice is how it works so beautiful for every detail of your wedding accessories. Again, it’s a palette that can be used effectively all year round. The colour traits of Ivory are earthy, soft, subtle and stable.
This shade of blue is a classic colour for wedding planning and we have a feeling both shades of indigo and navy are going to be seen over 2016. This particular Indigo shade is perfect for an Autumn/Winter fairytale themed wedding. This bold choice works effectively on it’s own but also paired with gold for that ‘royal’ visual impact. It’s traits represent royal, relaxing and escapism.
Looking for a colour full of impact? We think sangria could be that colour this year. It’s vibrant and exciting and is just gorgeous paired with a nice subtle cream shade, not to mention works effectively on its own too. Sangria’s traits are passionate, emotional, strong and spiritual.
We just love peachy coral this year. It’s a colour choice that we feel can be used for any season of the year. It’s warm tone is perfect for autumn and the lighter shades contrast beautifully with summer. This peachy coral colour traits are friendly, warm and accessible.
This emerald shade is a bold choice but we just love it. With several beautiful tones there is a lot you can do with it. We just love it accessorised with gold. This combination automatically suggests a touch of class. The traits of emerald are unique, openness and unexpectedness.
A cooler colour palette such as teal is ideal for a spring/summer beach themed wedding. We feel this colour is going to be one to watch this year, as it is quickly becoming very popular. Teal represents clear, clean, defined, fresh, crisp and modern traits.
